About ET
Hello! :)
I'm Emma Taylor (she/they) and it’s a pleasure to virtually meet you! I was born on a farm in New York, (as was my vivid imagination,) and I grew up in New Jersey where I learned how to grow some delicious tomatoes... Though I had to wait until college to learn about pumping gas.

I am currently a member of Ithaca College’s BFA Acting program, with my graduation set for May of 2021. I started at Ithaca as a Musical Theatre major, having been classically trained in both voice and ballet. While I ultimately decided I wanted to focus the remainder of my studies on non-musical work, I still have a deep love for the art of musical storytelling.
The theatre that I gravitate towards generally highlights Shakespearian drama, female-driven narratives, and the powerful form of communication which theatre can be to its society. Our art can be particularly powerful in reflecting an image of us and our societies back onto ourselves: I think this creates great opportunity for activism/advocacy within the work.
I hope to explore an integration of my passion for nature, non-human animals, gender/queer studies, and survivors of sexual assault/trauma with what I create through performance, visual art, and devices which I have yet to discover! I also look forward to doing work that I don't know anything about yet.
The past year has left me hoping that we can continue to create space for empathy, listening, and learning in our work these next few years.
